Guest Blogger Sarah- Gymnastics Competition

My sister Sarah, who is in second grade, is going to do a guest post on gymnastics.

My name is Sarah and I am seven years old. I have been doing gymnastics for two years.  There are ten levels in gymnastics, and I just had my first level 5 competition.  At the gymnastics meet there were many different gyms. Some came even as far away as Canada!
Coaches

I have two coaches,  Julius and Mariella. Mariella teaches floor and beam, and Julius teaches vault and bars. I practice 20 hours per week (five days a week for 4 hours at a time).

There are 4 events in gymnastics, vault, floor, beam and bars. My favorite event is floor.

In competition, each event is judged by 3 judges.  Each judge can give you a score between 0 and 10.000.  At the end, they add up your scores from all the events to give you an all around score. The highest score you can receive is 40.000.  At my competition, I got first place on vault and floor, and second place all around. My all around score was 35.225.

  3. Dear Sarah,

I really have enjoyed reading your guest post about your gymnastic competition you attended.

Well done! on winning your events. I must say you deserve to win as you do practice a great deal.
This is a really credit to you. I, somehow feel you would make a wonderful team member for the Olmpic games.

I do know to do gymnatics you need great strength to control your upper body. From looking at those wonderful photographs you have it all.

Thank you for sharing this wonderful post with us.
    Yours sincerely,
    AA.

  5. Dear Sarah,

I ♥ that your sister has given you a spot on her blog as a guest blogger! You've done a fabulous job!

Your dedication to gymnastics is remarkable. I took a tumbling class when I was young, and I always enjoyed doing cartwheels. In fact, I still do a cartwheel if I'm super-duper excited! :-)

You mentioned that you like the floor event the best. What is it that you like about it so much? Which is your least favorite event and why?

    Mrs. Y♥llis

  8. WOW, WOW, WOW, Sarah! I'm so glad you shared your medals and experience with those outside of our classroom. I know that all of the kids in Room 202 are so proud of you. I was proud of you before and continue to think you are a special and talented little girl.
    Keep up the good work.

    Love,
    Mrs. C.

  9. @ Mrs. Yollis,

Thank you for leaving me a nice comment.

I love the floor routine because I like doing the tumbling passes. My least favorite event is beam because it's easy to fall and the judges deduct points for every wobble.

I loved your comment! You really need a lot of strength to do gymnastics. My favorite event is floor and my least favorite event is beam.

    @ Bianca,
Thank you for leaving a comment. Miriam used to do gymnastics and now also does dance. Do you like your new 3rd grade teacher? What kind of dancing do you do?
