Tennis Lesson

I have had some wonderful moments playing tennis, and I want to share them with you.  Every weekend, my sister and I play tennis with coach Anthony.  Some of the tennis moves that I have learned are:
  • forehand
  • backhand
  • volley
  • overhead smash
  • serve
Tennis can be played with 2 players (singles) or 4 players (doubles). Below is a diagram of a tennis court. The size of the court changes depending on how many people you have playing.  Tennis was first played in England in the 19th century on the grass.  Today people play tennis on the grass, hard court and clay court.  I play only on hard court.

Here is a video of my sister and I playing tennis. We always enjoy playing tennis with our coach, and we also get some rigourous (harsh, severe) exercise.

Do you play tennis?

What sports do you like?

  1. Dear Miriam,

I love your animoto that you did.
    Well done!

It appears by watching your animoto you and your sister are having a wow of a time doing your tennis lesson.

The many sports I did when I was a young girl were tennis, rounders and netball.

I enjoyed playing tennis as we competed against other townships around our area which was always lots of great fun. As you always got to make lots of new friends.

Well done explaining all the correct tennis moves.

Well done on another great post Miriam.

  2. Dear Miriam,

Wow! You play tennis athletically! I play tennis too, and my coach is coach Anthony also. I had him before you, and I know that because you told me. I used to play soccer, but not anymore because my coach did the same practice every week.

Have you ever took soccer lessons?
If so, did you like it?

    You friend,

  3. Dear Miriam,

I really enjoy your posts because you do such a great job of explaining things. You are very good at using pictures to complement your words.

I never took tennis lessons, but I always enjoyed playing with my friends who did take lessons. They would usually beat me, but I got pretty good at backhands and drop-shots. It is an extremely fun sport! And, like you said, it is fantastic exercise.

My favorite sports to play are soccer, ping-pong, and badminton.

Do you have a favorite tennis player?

  6. Mira,

I play tennis too! Unlike cooking, tennis is something that your mom is much better at than I am. Soon, you will likely be better than me too! What sport do you like better: track or tennis? or both equally?

I have a joke for you today (unrelated to tennis/sports):

What lies at the bottom of the ocean and twitches?

    Answer: A nervous wreck!

    hahahahaa!

    Love you!

  8. @Mr. Salsich,

I am glad that you like my post and my digital photos.

In soccer, I like to kick the ball into the net, although I don't play soccer.

My favorite player is Roger Federer because he wins almost all of his matches. I can't believe he didn't win the Australian open.
